How to Build a Minimalist Wardrobe

Today I'm sharing tips on how to build a minimalist wardrobe. Imagine the closet pack up with basic, classic pieces that you can mix & match and create hundreds of effortlessly chic outfits in no time! Getting dressed for any occasion will never get easier.

1. Clean up and organize your closet
First thing you should do is to take an inventory of the pieces you already own. Do you wear it on a regular basis? If not, why it's taking space in your closet? Get rid off the clothes that you don’t really like, don’t fit that well or haven’t been worn for months. Cleaning up may not be fun but it will help you to figure out what you wear the most and what else you need to build a fabulous minimalist wardrobe.

2. Create a shopping list and set up your monthly budget
Write down what you really need to buy and go shopping. Concentrate on the basic, versatile items that you can mix & match with things that you already own. Set up a monthly budget to avoid over spending. Even just one new piece will make a difference! Building a minimalist wardrobe is a long term project but it will pay off at the end.

3. Accessorize, but keep it minimal
Dressing up an outfit with a few accessories can make a huge difference on the overall look, just make sure you don't over do it. Pay attention to details and remember, less is more. If you are wearing a statement necklace, stay minimal with other accessories. My favorite pieces of jewellery are dainty silver bracelets, bohemian rings and small earnings.
Scarves are a must-have for a minimalist wardrobe. Throw on a scarf and you'll get a completely different look in matter of seconds. Don't be afraid to experiment with different types of accessories until you find what works for you. Then wait for the seasonal sales and stock it up!

4. Repeat your favorite outfits
When you find that simple, perfect outfit that you feel most comfortable in, you want to wear it every single day. Well, you can. Repeat the outfit using a new combination of colors and accessories. That's an idea of a minimalist wardrobe : having clothes that you love and that you can easily mix & match into favorite outfits so you can look great and feel great... every single day.

Go ahead and clean you closet, you'll thank me later. Soon I will post about the key pieces for a minimalist wardrobe, so stay tuned!
